Ian Brick
Ian Brick first picked up the guitar at the age of 14 after a sports injury prevented him from pursuing anything of athletic interest. His first serious music lessons took place at A Lotta Music in his hometown of Medford, New Jersey, and within two years he was asked to work at the school as a teacher. After his exposure to jazz and contemporary music in high school, Ian decided to pursue music full time and enrolled at the University of the Arts. In May of 2010, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in jazz performance. His most influential teachers include Shawn Christie, Dave Manley, Tom Giacabetti, Mike Quaile, and Kevin Hanson. He has performed at numerous venues in the Philadelphia area including the Prince Theater, World Café Live, Merriam Theater, Kimmel Center, Starland Ballroom, and the Academy of Music. Presently, Ian lives in New Jersey and continues to nurture the music community as a performer, educator, and composer.
